Best brunch and coffee spots in Seseh, Bali

Tucked quietly between Canggu and Cemagi on Bali’s southwest coast, Seseh is a beachside village that really feels like you’re in Bali. That sounds like a weird thing to say but after drowning in the crowds of Uluwatu and Canggu, I was so happy to arrive here.

If you’re craving a slower slice of Bali life and you want to experience a more authentic side of Bali but still have access to the busier areas, Seseh is your answer. The streets are still lined with lush rice paddies, and the black sand beaches are still a home for local fishermen and surfers. It’s peaceful, authentic, and worlds away from the traffic and chaos just a few kilometres down the road

Whether you’re on this magical island for a quiet weekend, a surf escape, or a few days of remote work by the sea, you’ll find some seriously good places to eat in Seseh. I have taken it upon myself to eat my way around and create you a list of what I think are the best places to have coffee and brunch in Seseh, Bali.

Are you ready? Let’s dive on in!

Best places for brunch and coffee in Seseh, Bali

Seseh General Store

Okay, this was absolutely the morning coffee hangout in Seseh. It’s located on the corner (see pictures below), and behind it is the beach. So come here to grab your morning coffee and either stretch your legs on the beach, take a seat and soak up the social vibes, people watch and read your book or have your pre-Shapehouse pilates caffeine.

It felt like the locals hangout and we met some really beautiful humans here, day after day! They do also serve food but I never had it so can’t speak from experience. What I will say though is that the coffee and social vibe is on point – hence why it’s on the best places to have coffee and brunch in Seseh!

Neighbourhood, Seseh

Next up we have Neighbourhood. Here you can expect great coffee, a range of delicious brunch plates (I loved the sweet potato fritters, see below) and more epic social vibes. The interior had a diner style feel and was very casual. Lots of people arriving in their workout gear! I think this is probably one of the most popular spots for brunch in Seseh, it was always busy when we went and drove past.

I loved their almond protein balls too. Yum.

Clove

The space at Clove has been designed minimally, and there’s a calm elegance to it. I loved my mornings here, journaling. You can see in the photos below that there is indoor seating and then a few benches and tables to enjoy your morning matcha or coffee outside too. If you arrive and you’re lucky enough to get an outdoor spot, this is where I recommend ordering your morning caffeine and browsing the menu of light bites and pastries.

I loved the smoked salmon hash and the almond strawberry sourdough on the brunch menu (see photos below). Also, don’t worry about the time, they serve all day brunch and you can also order more lunch / dinner options too!

You can’t visit Seseh without visiting Clove. You’re welcome.

Rou (matcha heaven)

Okay I know this is a coffee and brunch guide to Seseh but I have to mention this matcha spot. This is the best spot for matcha in Seseh for sure. I am a matcha snob haha so you can trust me on this one. All they serve here at Rou is matcha (hot/iced) alongside some matcha treats too. You can choose your grade and flavour of matcha and your choice of milk too. All tea is grown in the home of Matcha, Uji Japan.

Matcha lovers, you’re welcome.

Organic Ocean at Udara

Located inside the beautiful Udara Bali wellness resort, Organic Ocean is where you go to enjoy a brunch for the soul. If you have time, do a yoga class before you have brunch. The views from the shala go out over the ocean – its so stunning!

The menu here at Udara is centred around nourishing, fresh, and sustainable dishes – so you’ve got all your smoothie bowls, fresh wraps, and local produce beautifully plated (see photos below!). We ate here multiple times during our week in Seseh it was that good.

Absolutely one of the best places for coffee and brunch in Seseh!!

Yoga Shala at Udara, Bali

The Lodge Seseh

The Lodge offers one of the prettiest breakfast spots in the area and is another great option for breakfast or brunch in Seseh. On the menu, they have both Western and Indonesian dishes, fluffy omelettes, tropical fruit plates, and great coffee. It’s laid-back, open-air and their San Diego avocado smash was heavenly! So were the fresh coconuts.

The only thing I didn’t like so much here was that a lot of the indoor seating is quite dark, I’m someone who loves eating brunch in good daylight, haha. Minor details, but as you can see below, there is also the option to sit outside / by the doors!

Seseh St Cafe

Seseh St Cafe is a bright, modern space and is filled with the smell of good coffee and fresh pastries. You’ve got all your classics here: smashed avo, eggs Benedict, smoothie bowls, and all the juices. I loved their shakshuka and also the attention to detail on the juices! The presentation was on point.

Seseh St Cafe is easily one of the best places to eat in Seseh and also a great spot for co-working as it’s super spacious inside. Lots of people were eating and working here when we visited!

Do you have any other favourite brunch or coffee spots in Seseh, Bali?

I’d love to know if there’s a new one that’s popped up and is worth checking out.

Love as always and happy adventuring,

Mollie.
