A guide to The Yacht Week, Croatia
You’ve heard the name, you’ve seen the photos, you’ve watched the videos & you’ve most probably noticed me banging on about it. BUT you’re probably still clueless and left wondering what on earth The Yacht Week actually is?
Let me tell you…
The Yacht Week is the name of the company. Their concept is pretty simple…
1. Grab your friends
The yachts sleep 6-12 people. So basically see how many people you can round up. Don’t sweat if there’s only a couple of you, you can use the official crew finder to team up and find others to fill your boat! You can also book single cabins on a yacht here, but it’s more expensive!
Note: Minimum age is 20 years old.
2. Choose a destination
The destinations are expanding by the year. At the moment you can choose between sailing: Croatia, Greece, Montenegro or the British Virgin Islands in The Caribbean. Read more about the destinations here.
3. Choose a Yacht
There are a wide variety of yachts to choose from. Prices start at £500pp and increase depending on the luxury you fancy (they go up to over £1500pp!). Every boat will need a skipper (you can hire one) or, if you have a certified one on board, then perfect. You can also add a hostess at an additional cost (cook meals, tidy up etc). View the different yachts and prices here.
4. Choose a week
Now simply decide WHEN you want to begin the adventure. Click here and click select destinations to see availability.
5. GET EXCITED
All the hard work is now done. A week of sailing between islands alongside bundles of other boats. Download your countdown app and GET EXCITED.
Why is The Yacht Week SO amazing?
The tag line for The Yacht Week is ‘Nothing Like the Real World’ and I can assure you, that is every bit true.
Not much could have prepared me for what I was about to entail.
Whichever part of your soul that has led you to this post or to consider booking The Yacht Week, lies in every single person you’ll meet there. So, it goes without saying you’ll be coming back with at least 100 new Facebook friends and no doubt a few life long ones.
People come from ALL over the world to The Yacht Week so you’ll be immersed in different languages, cultures, drinking games & best of all, by the end of the week you’ll have places all over the world to go and visit.
The bottom line is, everyone has one thing in common… The desire to escape the stresses and pressures of every day life, to let go and have a freakin’ GOOD TIME.
Imagine waking up every day to blue skies, clear waters and the opportunity to explore somewhere new.
You wake up at your own comfort with your crew mates to share stories from the night before as you tuck into breakfast and sail across the big blue.
The ocean breeze slips behind the sails to cool you down and freshen you up before another ice cold glass of your chosen refreshment slips into your hand (usually alcoholic).
You drift into a midday siesta knowing that the hardest decision you’ll have to make today is what to wear.
As you arrive at a new island, you grab a spot of lunch and one of The Yacht Week team members will give you the low down as to what parties are planned, what time they start, the best restaurants to head to and what opportunities you have to explore.
At your own leisure, you can take each day exactly as you choose.

Whilst you are free to do as you wish, I can guarantee you will become quickly addicted to the energy of your fellow Yacht Week members and will be hopping onto the boat next door before the anchor is even down.
From exclusive Yacht Week parties to Hula hula cocktails as the sun sets on Hvar – EVERY party is epic and you simply can’t miss a single one.
That’s speaking from my experience of Croatia anyhow, and I know it’s the busiest/ most popular route. Destinations like Greece have less of an emphasis on the party culture and are more relaxed due to consisting of fewer boats/crews.
It’s full on, but it’s incredible.
It’s The Yacht Week.
Here are my favourite captured moments from The Yacht Week 2015, Week 34, Croatia
Plane tickets to places I’ve never been.
Palm trees and ocean views.
Languages I don’t understand.
Star filled skies that remind me what’s important in life.
Sun kissed skin.
Dancing until the sun comes up.
Salty beach hair.
Adventures I could never have planned.
Strangers that are now friends.
Memories I’ll never, e v e r forget.
