Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Another proposed 7 hour bus journey.
11.5 hours.
Putting all hope in a sticker that they put on you as you leave one destination and head to another.
Basically tourists are goods being transported across the country and it saves Malaysian workers from having to communicate, they just see your label and point you in the right direction.

But luckily the parcel arrived at the proposed address…

Two nights in Kuala Lumpar.

First things first I was due my 3rd post bite jab from the doctors. Unfortunately nowhere but the private Chinese hospital had the verorab vaccine and so I had to headed there. This set me back £120 but  I had no choice and when it comes to health you can’t really make an exception.
Stupid monkeys.

Then on to explore KL and get a wee bit of exercise…

Didn’t take us long to find a shopping centre…
Berjaya Sq.
Indoor Theme Park.

Petronas Towers by day…

WE FOUND NANDOS!!!!
Petronas Towers by night…

After leaving a couple of Thai islands out and getting slightly not bored in Langkawi but… bored, we were ahead of schedule and had seen pretty much all there is to see in Kuala Lumpur in 2 days.
We had 2 and a bit weeks to get to Singapore and there really wasn’t much to see on the way down. At this point we did consider Koh Phangan again but thought that would be a bit mad so we opted for Bali, Indonesia…
Booked our flights the night before and we were raring to go.
Nothing like a bit of spontaneity…
First free breakfast we have had.
Slightly limited to a banana a piece of toast and a cup of tea with no milk.
But I managed to improvise!

We met our Malaysian friend Lio at our hotel whilst having breakfast and she offered to take us for lunch and show us the cheapest way to get to the airport.

The taxi was going to be 45 ringgit each (£10) but we got the monorail for 1 ringgit and then a coach for 8 ringgit. 1/5 of the price 🙂

Monorail to KL center…

Lunch served on a banana leaf…

Myself, Leanne and Lio.

Folding the banana leaf to indicate you have finished eating…

Coach was actually on time 🙂
So was the flight 🙂
= happiness
Bali here we come!
