Where is Morzine? How to get to Morzine…
Morzine is in the Haute Savoie department in the Rhone Alpes of France. It is located in the northern part of the Alps, right next to the Swiss border. Morzine is located next to many major towns. It is just a 1.5-hour drive from Geneva. Morzine is also located within the Geopark Du Chablais, which is a UNESCO-listed Geopark. The Geo Route includes 23 sites, one of them being the Montriond Lake.
You can get to Morzine by flying into a major city nearby. The most convenient option would be Geneva, the capital city of Switzerland. From there you will be able to get either a taxi or a transfer directly to your stay.

1. Ski from France to Switzerland
Skiing in Morzine is one of the best things to do here in winter. So when visiting Morzine, make sure you get a Morzine Lift Pass! The ski area stretches all the way from France to the border of Switzerland, so you can ski across the border!
When you’re not skiing or taking a break, there are lots of things to do on the slopes. One of the best things to do in Morzine on the mountain besides skiing is to participate in one of the many on-going events, one of them being Snowbox! During the Snowbox event there will be a variety of different DJs and musicians. When the event is not on, you can still go and enjoy a drink at the Folie Douce. Then you can choose to join everyone else aprés-skiing! Aprés-ski parties are also considered one the top things to do in Morzine in winter.

If you are wanting to do something outdoorsy other than skiing in Morzine, don’t worry! Morzine has multiple fun outdoor activities. One of the many fun things to do in Morzine in winter is ice climbing, and definitely one for your France bucket list.
Ice climbing means being equipped with ice axes and crampons, all while you climb frozen walls. Don’t worry though, you will not be left alone, there will be a guide to guide you through the whole thing! So even if you are not experienced in ice climbing at all, you can still do it. 3. Walk around Lac de Montriond
Walking around Lac de Montriond is one of the best things to do in Morzine in both summer and winter, and definitely one of the best places to visit in France whatever the weather. During the winter the lake will be frozen, and everything will be completely covered in snow. It will feel like stepping into a magical scene of a fairytale. During the summer it will be warm and a perfect spot to go swimming!

6. Go swimming in Aquariaz
If you are more of an indoor activity type of person, you should visit Aquariaz! Aquariaz is an indoor aquatic paradise located right in the mountains! It is one of the best things to do in Morzine in winter and it is the perfect way to end a full day of skiing, either to just enjoy their hot pools in their Chill-Out place, or to go have some more fun! One of the most fun things to do in Aquariaz is going on the Slidewinder. It is a rubber tube slide that is more than 10 meters tall!

7. Go paragliding and see Morzine from the air

When exploring the town of Morzine, you must go to Bec Jaune Brewery! This microbrewery is one of the coolest spots in Morzine. The brewery also offers incredible sides/snacks to go with your drink, so make sure you try one or more of those! If you really love it, you can even choose to go for dinner there later. The atmosphere, the drinks and the food in this place are all reasons as to why I think visiting is one of the best things to do in Morzine.

10. Take an enchanted night walk in the Alta Lumina trail
Alta Lumina is a lights festival located in Let Gets. It is the most magical experience and one of the best things to do in Morzine. Alta Lumina is open all year around so you can go in summer or winter.
This place is like something taking straight out of a fairytale or childhood dream. When the night falls on the Alta Lumina trail you will be plunged into another dimension, another world.
