The ultimate UK adventure bucket list

Possibly the most underrated travel destination going?

If there is one thing I learnt to appreciate after 36 crazy months of travel, it’s the UK and the beauty we have within this incredible country.

Until recently, I blindly overshadowed the beauty here in my home country. I’ve spent thousands of pounds on travelling abroad, and I’ve spent the majority of my time convinced that the best travel out there was located in far-flung corners of the world. Everywhere but in the UK.

But adventure really is RIGHT on my doorstep and my bucket list for UK adventures is growing by the minute. I was able to explore a few more corners of the UK in 2018 & 2019 as an ambassador for Visit England, but there’s still so much more to see!

EXPLORE LONDON ON MY BLOG HERE

How many of you have been to the UK and just stopped off in London before moving on?

I’m sure many of you have…

Next time, hold up. There’s SO much within easy access of London’s airports and there’s nowhere quite like England and the countryside we have to offer here.

I’m planning to be based in Europe a lot more now and so I’m compiling a list of all the places I’d like to see, hopefully with my camper van (currently in renovation, see here).

In hope that I inspire some of you guys to do the same, here are a combination of incredible adventures I’ve already done and adventures I hope to embark on in the UK soon, all of which make up my…

I have marked their locations on a Google map below…

1. White Cliffs Of Dover

While I haven’t spent any length of time in Dover, I was able to see the beautiful view when I took the ferry from London to Calais with P&O Ferries in September 2018. See my experience here.

2. The Isle Of Man

This one’s still on my bucket list!

3. Explore Wales in a camper van

I love Wales – I’ve spent weekends in SwanseaBangor and Snowdonia National Park. I also held my first WMGT adventure in Snowdonia! Now that I have my own camper van I hope to see even more of this beautiful part of the UK!

See all my posts about Wales here.

Check out my UK (& Europe) road trip bucket list here.

9. The Yorkshire Dales

I headed up here with friends for a weekend and it was the best. We all stayed in a cottage together, completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks (can be done in one day) and cosied up in the local pubs. My favourite kind of weekend.

See my itinerary and blog post here.

Top tip: While you’re there, be sure to take on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge!

Check out my post here.

10. Have A Party Weekend In Leeds

I’ve heard it’s a pretty good night out! I explored Leeds and the surrounding area during a Microgap with Visit England at the back end of 2018 and it’s an awesome weekend destination for a combination of bars, shopping, history and food!

See my blog post about my microgap and a 3-day itinerary here and check out my Leeds bucket list of things to do here.

11. Head Towards Essex And Explore Mersea Island

This one’s still on my bucket list!

12. Have A Weekend Away In The Surrey Hills

A beautiful area and so close to home for me (based in London).

Check out my experience here.

13. Go On Safari At Port Lympne

This one’s still on my bucket list! {Who knew we had safari options in England?!}

14. Sleepover at London Zoo

So, so, so magical…

Check out my experience here.

Top tip: You can also do the Keeper for a day experience, which was amazing!

17. Rent A Camper Van And Take A Road Trip Around Cornwall

This was one of my favourite 2016 adventures by far! See my road trip itinerary here and my camper life insight here.

18. Grab an Airbnb in the countryside

The absolute dream, whatever the weather. Book a unique place to stay in the countryside and cosy up in a cabin or hut with a fire and your favourite treats. Wake up to the gorgeous English greens, breathe in the fresh air and head out on a hike. Finish up with lunch in a country pub. BOOM.

We did exactly that in a Shepherd’s Hut in East Sussex. See my blog post here.
